Negi Restaurant owner Bhupal Singh Negi told Local 18 that Negi Restaurant was started by his father in 1961 in Nainital. Earlier his restaurant was known for non-veg items. But, after Corona, non-veg was stopped. Negi says that from October 10, 2010, he started Negi the Kulhar in his restaurant and started serving saffron milk to people along with Jalebi in Kulhar. Its taste was liked very much by the local people as well as the tourists coming to Nainital. Since then, he has been continuously bringing the taste of Kulhar’s delicious milk to the people in Nainital. As soon as evening comes, a huge crowd of people can be seen in Negi’s restaurant for Doodh Jalebi.

Negi says that the milk served by him is absolutely pure. He gets it from Pangot village near Nainital. The taste of this milk is also very wonderful. This is the reason why one who tastes their Kulhad milk once, definitely comes again. He told that in his restaurant Doodh Jalebi, Jhumre ki Kheer, Maduve Halwa are special. Along with this, you can also have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant.

Tourist Pratap, who came to Nainital from Odisha, says that he liked the taste of Jhingure kheer and Doodh Jalebi very much in this restaurant. He has been coming to the restaurant continuously for the last 3 days in the evening to taste Negi’s Doodh Jalebi.

Negi tells that at his place Kulhar milk starts at Rs 40. Along with this, the price of Doodh Jalebi is Rs 100 and Jhingure Kheer is Rs 60 per bowl.
